2.Product introduction

The immersed off-Load Tap Changer is a device used for operating oil-immersed power transformers under the conditions of de-energization or off-load, to adjust the tap positions of the transformer coil and thereby alter the transformer ratio.

 

3.Product parameters

Linear type tap changers are primarily applicable to oil-immersed power transformers operating at frequencies of 50Hz and 60Hz, with rated voltages of 10kV and 35kV. The product range covers various rated currents (e.g., 63A, 125A, 250A, 400A, 500A) and multiple voltage regulation methods, including mid-point and neutral-point regulation. Furthermore, to accommodate different transformer tank cover thicknesses, the tap changers are available in various mounting dimensions.

4. Product feature and application
The core feature of a strip-type tap changer lies in its strip-shaped (or ribbon-shaped) moving contacts. Its operating principle typically involves rotating a handle to drive a shaft and gears, which in turn drives a rack mechanism in linear motion. This causes the moving contacts to slide horizontally across the stationary contact bank, thereby accurately changing the tap position.

 

Conventional Distribution and Power Transformers
Linear-type tap changers are widely used in oil-immersed power transformers operating at frequencies of 50Hz/60Hz and rated voltages ranging from 10kV to 35kV. Under no-load (de-energized) conditions, they adjust the secondary output voltage by changing the number of turns in the primary winding, thereby stabilizing the grid voltage.
